Tiptoe Through the Tulips

We may have our rain in Portland, but we do have some beautiful flowers as a result of it.  Yesterday (Friday) we took a little trip south of Portland to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival just outside of Woodburn.  We brought along a friend, Ellison, who I watch on Wednesday and Friday mornings.  So it was a fun adventure for all of us.  I love contrasts, and I find that it is such a contrast from our dreary gray days to a beautiful sunny day with lots and lots of color. Cheers me up!

I am not the only one who felt cheery, but these two girls were let loose and were running, running, running down the paths along the tulips.

Occasionally they had to stop to check out the tulips a little closer and maybe even give them a little sniff.

Michael even got into the running excitement!

I really liked the purple ones this time.  Maybe because we have a lot of red and yellow ones by our house, that the puple just grabbed my attention.

Ellison really liked poking her head in these little picture sign things, so we let her have the chance to do it and tried to get Maia into it.  She sort of liked it.
What Maia really liked was the slide they had.  She kept going around and around pushing her way through the bigger kids to get up the stairs and onto the slide.

Two little girls stuffed inside a shoe.  At least one is smiling!

A picture with Mama. Gotta have that!

It really is quite a sight to drive into the farm and see in the near distance just an array of color.
Here is a video of Maia going down the slide.  Like I said she did this over and over and over again!

Such incredible color! Even the pictures of it cheer me up! We don't have anything like that here, I must admit. Just lots of days of lots of sunshine.
