Not to mention the many different smiles that were had playing with Grandpa.
Uncle Nick came by and stole Maia's heart. She loves her Uncle Nick. There was an abundance of laughter when he was around.
Maybe even more laughter when Gigit was around. Maia found that she loved little dogs more than cats, at least more than our scared-ey cat Meko. The dogs, Gigit (the pug) and Frank, did not run away from her when she was let loose on the floor. In fact, they just gave her kisses after kisses.
In South Dakota, Maia made some new friends. Grandma runs a daycare and so there were lots of little people running around. This made Maia so happy because she gets so excited when there are little kids in the area. Some of these kids entertained Maia with bubbles.
One friend in particular was closer in age to Maia and had just learned how to walk right before we arrived. So they got to play with each other when she (Ellie) was around.

You are amazing carrying all that luggage! That's no easy feat.
I think my favorite picture is the one of Maia and Nick.
I'm glad you had a good time. You're beaming in all the pictures of you, Jeanette!
Michael says: Hey! This is my first time seeing these pictures. I guess I've been too busy spending time with you now that you're back. In that picture at the airport, the carseat is obscuring one of the bags you are carrying; you had it even tougher than it looks in the pic. It was pretty neat that Alaska let me walk all the way out on the tarmac to the plane with you though, in order to carry your stuff. It's nice to be badged for the secure areas.
I also find it funny that this blog contains one of the last pictures of your sunglasses, taken only moments before Maia dropped them off the edge of the train at Storybook Land, never to be seen from again. Sad day. (Unless of course you dislike bug-eyed glasses as I do).
I agree with Katie: that is a lot of luggage, and you're amazing. It looks like lots of fun with famiy! I love the picture of you and Maia on the slide. Too cute!
